Biomechanics & Myotherapy Gold Coast
Reduce pain by improving how your body moves
Outcome Focused
Our work is centred around understanding how your body moves and what is contributing to ongoing pain and restriction.
• Structural Assessment
Understand why pain keeps returning
• Movement-Based Realignment
Improve how your whole body moves, not just where it hurts
• Functional Integration
Apply these changes into everyday movement
Results
What people often notice over time:
• A reduction in pain
• Improved posture and movement organisation
• More natural, less guarded movement
• Improved breathing and overall strength
• Improved nervous system regulation and sleep
• Greater confidence in how their body moves
How Pain Develops Through Movement and How We Change It
-
Pain rarely begins where it hurts.
Most pain develops when the body compensates for poor movement mechanics. Over time these compensations place strain on joints, muscles and connective tissue.
• Most treatments focus on the painful area
• Pain often comes from compensation
• Movement patterns create strain -
Biomechanics is the study of how the body moves and transfers force.
When posture and movement become disorganised, the body begins to compensate.
These compensations accumulate strain and eventually produce pain. -
Fascia is the connective tissue network that links the entire body together.
It forms continuous lines of tension that allow the body to transfer force efficiently during movement.
When posture or movement becomes disorganised, these tension lines change.
Parts of the body begin compensating for others.Over time this compensation creates strain — and strain is often where pain appears.

Who I Am
Jess Britten
Biomechanics Practitioner and Myotherapist, founder of North Gold Coast Biomechanics, based at Primal Posture on the Gold Coast, Arundel.I work with people who want to understand why their pain keeps returning, rather than just treating where it hurts.
I look at how the body organises and moves as a whole, identifying the patterns that lead to strain, restriction and compensation.
Often, the place that hurts isn’t the place creating the problem.
The focus is on building a strong foundation, improving how the body moves and supporting long-term change rather than short-term relief.
• Have pain that keeps returning
• Have tried physio, chiro or massage without lasting change
• Want to understand what’s actually driving their pain
• Want to improve how their body moves
• Are looking for something more than short-term relief
• Are looking for a more sustainable, long-term approach to movement and training
• Want to build a strong foundation before progressing to more complex movement

What We Do
We focus on improving how your body moves, not just treating where it hurts.
Each approach is used to improve movement, reduce compensation and support long-term pain reduction.
We provide biomechanics and myofascial release (Myotherapy) on the Gold Coast.-
We assess how your body moves to identify patterns contributing to pain, restriction and compensation. Rather than focusing on isolated areas, we look at how movement is organised across the whole body.
Persistent or recurring pain
Movement restrictions
Postural compensation patterns
-
When someone walks into the facility, I’m not looking at the painful areas.
I watch how they stand, how they move and how they breathe. The body usually reveals the story through movement before the person even describes the pain.
From there, I look at how forces are transferring through the pelvis, ribcage and limbs and where efficiency is being lost.
This helps identify what is contributing to pain, restriction and compensation.
-
A session is a mix of observation, guided movement and hands-on work.
I start by understanding how your body currently moves and where it is compensating.
From there, I may take you through myofascial release and guide you through small adjustments in posture, breathing and movement so you can feel what more efficient movement is like.
The changes are often subtle, but they can have a significant effect on how the body loads and unloads force.

Client Reviews
‘‘Fought with constant day to day niggles around my neck and lower/mid back I thought these were normal and apart of living that I have to endure. Since visiting Jess, we addressed the pain through correct biomechanics, with the right movement of the body I soon realised that I could leave the pain in the past and know how to use my body correctly. The results from consistent training with Jess out do any other work that I have previously had done with any "physio". I couldn't recommend a better practice.’’
— Adam Gadecki ‘‘I started training with Jess 12 months ago as over 40 plus years of conventional gym training had given me sore stiff joints and lower back issues that only got worse the more I trained.
Working with jess has literally transformed my body .It has been life changing for me
Big reduction in joint soreness and stiffness which has transferred into everyday life.
My gait cycle is now so much more efficient and move with less effort with all the muscles working together as they should.
Now age 71 I never expected to be able to train like I do with so much more energy. Muscle and strength increases have been amazing.
Jess has the skills and knowledge to start anyone on the path to better movement and a pain free life.’’
— Neil. W‘‘Jess is absolutely amazing. You can immediately tell how passionate she is about helping her clients, and she genuinely cares about the people she works with. Her knowledge and expertise are incredible, but it’s her kindness and dedication that really stand out. I’m so grateful for her help and couldn’t recommend her more highly.
I have tried many modalities over the years to fix my bad posture and terrible movement patterns. Nothing has stuck, but I can confidently say...this works!’’
